Smart Fish (For Real-time Detection of Microplastics)
Microplastics in the ocean could be eaten by marine organisms. They enter into the food chain and ultimately human bodies, posing threats to the environment and our health. Prof. Cindy Lam from the Department of Ocean Science and Prof. Frank Lam from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering developed the “Smart Fish”, a robotic fish that can conduct microplastics sampling more efficiently and effectively to help alleviating marine pollution.
